Goreworm – Miasmic Solitude
Genre: Technical Death Metal
About: Formed in 2017 in Brantford, Ontario, Goreworm blend technical, melodic, and brutal death metal into a cohesive, high-velocity attack. After their 2020 debut Prodigy of the Grotesque on CDN Records and the 2021 EP Plague of Shadows, the band returns with their sophomore full-length on Transcending Obscurity Records. Miasmic Solitude pushes their sound further, weaving neoclassical guitar work and crushing grooves into their most evolved material to date. Listen on Spotify.
Cornucopia – Cosmic Consciousness
Genre: Blackened Thrash Metal
About: Hailing from Kungsbacka, Sweden, Cornucopia describe themselves as a raw and adrenaline-fueled blackened thrash metal band with a callback to the 1980s. The band built their catalog through a 2021 demo, their 2022 debut full-length The Seventh Seal, and the 2024 EP The Forgotten Souls. Cosmic Consciousness is their second full-length, released independently through Ethereal Records, and marks a sonic expansion across nine tracks. Listen on Spotify.
Fleshcrawl – Epitome of Carnage
Genre: Death Metal
About: Founded in 1987 in Illertissen, Germany, Fleshcrawl are veterans of the European death metal underground, having recorded for Black Mark Productions in the 1990s — releasing records including Descend into the Absurd (1992), Impurity (1994), and Bloodred Massacre (1997) — before eventually signing to Metal Blade and later returning with 2019's Into the Catacombs of Flesh on Apostasy Records. Epitome of Carnage is their tenth studio album and their first release under a worldwide deal with Distortion Music Group / Reigning Phoenix Music. The record delivers twelve tracks of HM-2-driven old school death metal built on chainsaw riffs, explosive grooves, and the band's characteristically relentless pace. Listen on Spotify.
BalashToth – Equation II: The Antithesis of Life and Free Will
Genre: Melodic Death Metal
About: BalashToth is the solo project of Balázs Tóth, a Hungarian-born musician who relocated to Dundalk, Ireland in 2012 and is formerly the guitarist of Hungarian melodic death metal band Casketgarden. Following the 2023 EP Anti-Life, the 2024 EP =Equation=, and a subsequent compilation CD, Equation II is his debut full-length — completing the conceptual "Anti-Life Equation" thread of its predecessors. The album is a joint release between Pest Records, Metal Ör Die Records, and Tóth's own Not-Even-Music imprint, and explores melodic death metal ranging from blast-driven aggression to doomy closer atmospheres. Listen on Spotify.
Numen – Erre
Genre: Black Metal / Folk Metal
About: Formed in 1997 in Arrasate-Mondragón in the Basque Country, Spain, Numen have been one of the region's most distinctive black metal acts, writing and performing entirely in Euskara — one of Europe's oldest living languages. Their catalog spans four previous full-lengths, including Galdutako itxaropenaren eresia (2001), Basoaren Semeak (2004), a 2007 self-titled album, and Iluntasuna besarkatu nuen betiko (2019), all released through Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions. Erre is their fifth full-length and returns after a seven-year gap, thematically centering on the Basque witch trials and the Inquisition of the early 17th century. Listen on Spotify.
Defenestration – Rotting Antefix
Genre: Death Metal (EP)
About: Defenestration are a cavernous old school death metal band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who emerged with their debut EP Mortal Cremation in December 2023 on Attack With Force Records, followed by a two-track Promo '24 and a subsequent CD compilation through Poland's Morbid Chapel Records. Rotting Antefix is their new EP, released via Iron Fortress Records on CD, vinyl, and cassette. Recorded by Ryan Nash and mastered by Andrew Oswald, the six-track effort doubles down on the band's raw, guttural approach rooted in old school death and death-doom. Listen on Spotify.
Goetia – Mortuary Cult
Genre: Death Metal
About: Washington, D.C.'s Goetia were formed in the fall of 2022, emerging from the ashes of the DC death metal band Perpetuated. The trio self-released their debut EP in 2023 (later reissued through Persistent Vision Records), followed by 2024's Tomb Essence EP on Heavy & Fast Records and a 2025 7" on Voice of the Cielago. Mortuary Cult is their debut full-length, released on Carbonized Records, and draws on the classic extreme metal of Morbid Angel, Terrorizer, and Kreator across ten tracks of old school death metal steeped in occult and macabre imagery.
