Xenosis — Hermetic Transmutation
Genre: Progressive/Technical Death Metal
About: Formed in 2010 and based in New Haven, Connecticut, Xenosis have spent the better part of fifteen years refining a sound that balances intricate technical death metal with progressive experimentation. Hermetic Transmutation is their fifth full-length and follows Paralleled Existence (2021), expanding on earlier albums Haunted Skies, Sowing the Seeds of Destruction, and Devour and Birth. The record incorporates elements of brutal death metal and dissonant death metal alongside the band's core sound, and is released via Transcending Obscurity Records. Listen on Spotify.
Bloody Falls — IV
Genre: Melodic Death Metal / Groove Metal
About: Finnish metal outfit Bloody Falls formed in 2017 and have built a consistent catalog including Thanatos (2019), Burn the Witch (2021), and Amartia (2024). IV is their fourth full-length, released via Art Gates Records, and is described by the band as their most aggressive and focused work to date, anchored by apocalyptic lyrical themes centered on the Four Horsemen. The album is heavier and more relentless than their previous outings, pulling away from the slower, more experimental elements of earlier records. Listen on Spotify.
Dissentient — Black Galactic
Genre: Progressive Death Metal
About: Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Dissentient formed in 2005 and have evolved from their earlier black/death metal roots into a distinctly progressive death metal sound. Black Galactic is their fourth full-length and follows Labyrinth (2023), Portal III (2019), and Black Hole Machine (2011). The band self-releases independently and recorded the album at Darkmoon Productions, with production handled in-house. Listen on Spotify.
Nights of Malice — Chaos Exordium
Genre: Death Metal / Deathcore
About: Formed in Ocean County, New Jersey in 2009, Nights of Malice have built their reputation on sharp technical riffing, groove-driven arrangements, and rapid-fire vocal delivery. Chaos Exordium is their latest full-length, out via Bleeding Art Collective and Blood Blast Distribution, and was recorded with longtime collaborators Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio. The album features guest appearances from Chaney Crabb of Entheos and Bobby Yagodich of Verminoth, and marks a shift toward higher energy and a more direct approach compared to the band's earlier, more atmospheric material. Prior releases include their debut Aeonian (2015), the Our Penance EP (2016), and Sonnets of Ruin (2019). Listen on Spotify.
My Own Will — Misery
Genre: Death Metal / Hardcore
About: Southeastern Michigan's My Own Will play a death-infused brand of hardcore that pulls from deathcore and metalcore. Misery is a four-track EP released via Bleeding Art Collective and Blood Blast Distribution, and finds the band leaning into aggression and directness — all four songs written collectively in the studio. The band hit the road in support of the EP alongside labelmates Nights of Malice on the Chaos & Misery Tour. Listen on Spotify.
Shepherd of Rot — Abyssal Architect
Genre: Deathcore
About: Rochester, New York's Shepherd of Rot deal in lore-driven deathcore built around an expanding narrative mythology.
